Ron Rank has been a REALTOR® since 1975 in the greater Lake County and McHenry County area, specializing in seller representation. As an entrepreneur and relentless innovator, excellence — rather than average — is his measure.
The Origin Story
Ron first got into real estate in 1975, earning his license and working out of Villa Park. He later joined RE/MAX in Elmhurst and eventually became co-broker-owner of a RE/MAX office in Lombard. Around 1998, Ron relocated to Lake County, Illinois, bringing with him over two decades of real estate experience. He has since built deep roots in Lake and McHenry Counties. What started as a career became a calling — helping people navigate some of the biggest decisions of their lives.
His son David joined him in 2006, and the two eventually moved to eXp Realty together. Today they work side by side as The Rank Home Team — combining Ron's five decades of experience with David's energy and market knowledge to give sellers and buyers steady, experienced guidance from start to finish.
Together, they serve Lake County and McHenry County, Illinois — communities Ron has called home since 1998 and served with the same integrity he's upheld throughout his 50+ year career.

David Rank joined his father, Ron, in 2006 and today they work together as The Rank Home Team. Over the past two decades, David has helped first-time homebuyers, growing families, sellers, downsizers, seniors, and investors navigate one of life's biggest transitions. First-time buyers hold a special place in his heart — he loves replacing uncertainty with confidence by walking clients through every step, from pre-approval to keys in hand.
Clients describe David as patient, responsive, knowledgeable, and calming during what can otherwise feel overwhelming. He believes buying or selling a home should be exciting, not stressful. By explaining every step and remaining available when clients need him most, he helps transform the process into one people can genuinely enjoy.
David is also proud to support the Rank Home Team's SERVE and SAVE™ program, honoring those who serve our communities with special savings for eligible military members, veterans, firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, medical professionals, teachers, and clergy.
Outside of real estate, David enjoys fishing, serving as a Lake County Election Judge, volunteering with organizations like Feed My Starving Children, and supporting the arts through a scholarship fund he helped establish. Guided by his Christian faith, David approaches every client relationship with honesty, kindness, and respect.
